Lillian W. Blackmon of 3767 Main Street, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Comfort House of Allegany County in Wellsville. Lillian was born May 19, 1931 in Olean and was a daughter of Herman D. and Blanche Paventa Eaton. On June 8, 1952 in Terrell, TX she married her high school sweetheart, Bruce O. Blackmon, who survives. Lillian graduated from Hinsdale central School in 1949. She worked at AVX for 43 years, starting in 1950 and retiring in 1993. Lillian was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church and the Hinsdale Rebekah Lodge where she served as Matron of Honor. She enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, sewing, and reading. Along with her loving husband of 62 years, Lillian is survived by three sons, Terry B. (Betty) Blackmon of Olean, Gary L. (Kathy) Blackmon of Olean, and Brad O. (Kristin) Blackmon of Erie, PA; and eight grandchildren, Robert, Felicia, Courtney, Alexa, Kimber, Rachael, Katlyn, & Kenzie. Lillian was predeceased by a son, Bruce David Blackmon in 1991; a sister, Alberta Parker in 2010; and a daughter-in-law, Cecelia Smith Blackmon in 2008. Friends will be received Tonight, Feb. 12, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760, where a Funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Roger N. Hains, Pastor Emeritus of the Black Creek Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at the Hinsdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Comfort House of Allegany County, C/O of Hart Comfort House, 141 East State Street, Wellsville, New York 14895.
