Randy W. Washburn of 1311 West Sullivan Street, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 in the Olean General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Washburn was born Jan. 12, 1956 in Warsaw, N.Y. He married his wife Catherine I. "Kip" Pezzimenti in Black Creek, who survives.
Mr. Washburn Attended Cuba Schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Co. from August 1973 to July 1978. Mr. Washburn worked at the Olean General Hospital as an orderly for a couple of years. He then worked at Tiller Construction before going to work at Nicholson Construction in Ellicottville as a carpenter, where he was currently working until Dec. 17, 2007 when he retired do to his illness.
Mr. Washburn was a member of the Five Mile Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday, School. He loved his family very must and enjoyed spending time with them and especially his grandchildren. He also loved is Pug dogs.
Surviving Mr. Washburn besides his wife are a son, Eric R. Washburn of Friendship; a daughter, Jessica N. Washburn of Friendship; two grandchildren, Maddyson L. Nugent and Kaleigh M. Finnemore; eight brothers, Robert Frazier of New York, NY., Richard Frazier of Fillmore, Ray (Karen) Washburn of Olean, Don (Johnnei) Washburn of Ark., James Frazier of Ellicottville, Jeffery Frazier of Ellicottville, Jay (Beverly) Frazier of Florida, and a special brother, Mike (Candy) Frazier of Fillmore; three sisters, Linda (Mark) Osterhout of Fillmore, Jody Pringle of Olean, and Jacky (Dennis) Linderman of Ellicottville; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Natasha Brown and Jared Finnemore.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba, where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. The Rev. James E. Mitchell, Pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery, Cuba.
