Richard E. Wood

Richard E. "Woody" Wood, Sr., formerly of 518 North 8th Street, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at the Buffalo VA, following a brief illness. Woody was born Aug. 23, 1940 in Ithaca. He served in the U.S. Army from May 26, 1969 to Dec. 21, 1972. Woody was a life-long resident of Olean, where he enjoyed walking to the warming house to sit with his friends and have coffee. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and his many friends. Woody is survived by thee sons, Richard E. "Sonny" (Sarah) Wood, Jr., Dale L. (Jamie) Wood, and Mike Vanetten; four stepdaughters, Tina Dewe, Anna Howard, Wendy Boser, Penny Dibble; seven grandkids; and one great grandkid. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to his son, Richard E.
