Stanley A. Tuttle of 289 Kinney Hollow Road, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness.
Stanley was born July 1, 1925 in Howard and was the son of Arthur E. and Lottie VanWormer Tuttle. On Sept. 30, 1966 in Portville, he married his wife of 44 years, Florence M. Sortore, who predeceased him on Nov. 30, 2010.
Stanley lived in Arcade, Olean, and Cuba. He worked in farming, then at Diamond Saw Works, before going to work at ACME for 21 years, retiring in the mid 1990's. Stanley was also a self-employed electrician and furnace repairman for many years. He enjoyed "tinkering," and working around his home, as well as helping others.
Stanley is survived by two sons, Ronald S. (Deanna) Tuttle of Hinsdale, and John P. (Anneke) Chodan of Cohoes; one stepson, Rodney J. (Cathy) Evans of Pine City; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his loving wife, Stanley was predeceased by one adopted daughter, Michelle Tuttle; two sisters, Winifred Mills and Gertrude Sarvics; and one stepdaughter, Barbara Rath.
At Stanley's request, there will be no Public Visitation. A Funeral service will be held at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Patrick Morrison, Stanley's Nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Belfast. Online condolences may be made by clicking the button above.
