Donna M. Smith

Mrs. Donna M. Smith passed away Dec. 21, 2008 at the Pine in Olean after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 27, 1929 in Olean and was a daughter of the late Sophia and Charlie Koenig. On Nov. 28, 1946 she married Charles King Smith at St. Mary's rectory in Olean, who survives her. Mrs. Smith was a member of the St. Helen's Church of Hinsdale; the Hinsdale Fire Department Lady's Auxiliary, the P.T.A., the Hinsdale Guys & Gals and was also a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was on the Committee that started Hinsdale Little League baseball, also the Spanish Lake County Club of Ft. Pierce Florida. Mrs. Smith enjoyed playing golf, Bocce Ball, shuffleboard, cards, Bingo and watching most sports. She loved spending the summers in Hinsdale and the winters in Florida. Mrs. Smith loved to travel and go on family outings. Surviving Mrs. Smith besides her husband are three sons, Charles King Smith II of Caledonia, Daniel H. (Holly) Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gerald T. (Kathy) Smith of Olean; four grandchildren, Kevin Smith of Hinsdale, Shayne Smith of Frederick, MD., Jami (Craig) Perry of Elmira, and Angela (Jim) Greenaker of Castile; four great-grandchildren, Josh & Tori Greenaker of Castile, and Mia & Elana Perry of Elmira. At her request there will not be any public visitation or services at this time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the St. Bonaventure's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hinsdale Fire Department or the Hinsdale American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean.
