Jean L. Mattox

Jean L. Mattox , 80, of Limestone, passed away at 1:30 pm Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Olean General Hospital. Born January 29, 1936 in Venus, PA. , she was the daughter of the late Walter and Grace Donley Pleger. She attended Oil City Schools. She worked for the Oil City Glass Plant before moving to Hagerstown, Md., where she took care of the elderly in her home. She later moved to Limestone, NY. She enjoyed doing crafts and reading. She is survived by 4 children, Jennifer Bryson of Caldwell, ID; Karen L. Schneider and husband Edward of Oil City, PA; Robert G. and wife Eliana Marie Bryson of Caldwell, ID; and Richard D. Bryson and wife Ruth of Allegany, NY. She has 6 grandchildren, Christine and Rachael Mench of Oil City; Adam Bryson of Adelphi, MD; Stacy R. and Chad E. Dunkle of Oil City; Kayla Marie Bryson of Glen Burnie, MD; and a step granddaughter, Rachel N. Britton and husband Brian of Oil City, PA. She also has 2 great grandchildren, Aiden James Hutchinson of Oil City, PA and Nysanity Rose Dunkle of Oil City, PA. and 2 step great grandchildren, Jaxson and Jase Britton. She is also survived by 2 brothers Robert and wife Wil Pleger of Smithfield, VA and Donald and wife Betty Pleger of Smithfield, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers and a step grandson, David Schneider. There will be no visitation or service.
