Rose Margaret Martinelli

Margaret Martinelli, formerly of Olean and Wellsville, passed away on Wed, June 22, 2016 in the St. Ann's Home in Rochester following an lengthy illness. Marty was born July 16, 1932 in Sayre, PA and was the daughter Frederick and Mary Catherine Wanroy Yeisley. On July 18, 1959 in St. Mary of the Angels Church in Elmira, she married her loving husband John F. Martinelli, Sr., who survives. Marty graduated from South Side High School in Elmira and continued her education at St. Joseph's in Elmira with a degree in Nursing. She worked in Olean at St. Francis Hospital, Olean General Hospital, and then Cattaraugus County Nursing home in Olean, where she retired in 1997, after over 40 years of nursing. Margaret was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking. Margaret loved spending time with her best friend, Barbara. She and her husband, John enjoyed traveling to the many different states to see their children and grandchildren. Margaret truly loved spending time with her family. In addition to her loving husband of almost 57 years, Marty is survived by five sons, Stephen J. (Mary) Martinelli of Wellsville, David J. (Brigitte) Martinelli of Greenville, SC, Christopher A. (Sue) Martinelli of Winchester, VA, John F. (Melanie) Martinelli, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Daniel F. (Paula) Martinelli of Rochester; two daughters, Nancy E. (Robert) Wind of Rochester, and Lisa M. (Michael) Gaston of Knoxville, TN; 15 grandchildren, Anthony, Nathaniel, Ryan, Nicole, Josh (Christine), Christopher, Adam, Jacob, Caleb, Andrew, McKinnon, Nicholas (Hannah), Joey, Isabella, and Julia; her twin sister, Helen Joanne "Jody" Tokar of Big Flats; and a brother, John (Josie) Yeisley of Hillsborough, NC. Marty was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Martinelli; and a sister, Mary Kathleen Grace. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at which time a prayer service will be held. A 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Patrick Melfi will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, #1425 Jefferson Road, Rochester, New York 14623. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
