Friendship – Zane Grey Scott “Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather”
Zane Grey Scott of Friendship passed away at Jones Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, and went to join the Lord surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Zane was born on March 16th, 1927, in South Warsaw, NY and was the son of Walter H. and Lula Merril Scott. He was formerly married to Ewdokija “Tony” Moros. On May 1st, 1988, at the Friendship Episcopal Church he married his loving wife, Lois C. Cafrella who survives.
Zane grew up in the Perry-Warsaw area on a family farm. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 33rd Infantry. Zane later became a businessman with multiple businesses including becoming a realtor and worked with his wife under United National Scott Realty in Friendship. He owned and maintained rental properties. He attended Friendship United Methodist Church. When he was younger he enjoyed traveling and he even traveled to the Holy Islands in Israel. Zane will be remembered fondly as a man who was capable and willing fix anything and was always there to help other people.
Along with his loving wife of 33 years, Zane leaves behind two children; Walter G. (Lorrain) Scott of Perry, and Larene V. (Steven) McCabe of Warsaw, four stepchildren; Linda C. Terry Palmer of Belfast, Donna C. (Dennis) Bliven of Belmont, Donald C. (Marni) Parker of the Bahamas, and David C. (Lee) Parker of Florida, 14 grandchildren; Dawn, Valeria, Scott, Todd, Wayne, Angela, Sarah, Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Melinda, Katherine, Dustin, and Garrett, and several great and great great grandchildren.
Zane was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 9th, 2021, at 1:00pm at United Methodist Church of Friendship, officiated by Rev. Becky Worth at 21 West Main Street Friendship, burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Friendship American Legion will accord full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a local church of donor’s choice.
