Mr. Sader of 1701 Stardust Lane passed away Wednesday June 26, 2013 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Ellen & Michael Keenan at 23 Wood Hill Road, Pittsford, NY surrounded by his loving wife and family, following a short illness.
Mr. Sader was born April 29, 1929 in Olean and was a son of George and Rose Knieser Sader. On June 14, 1958 at St. Joseph's Church in Olean, he married his wife of 55 years Viola E. Collins, who survives. The service was officiated by his brother-in-law, Gerald Collins.
Mr. Sader graduated from Olean High School in 1948. He earned is Bachelor Degree in Business from St. Bonaventure University. Mr. Sader served in the US Army from Dec. 8, 1950 to Nov. 26, 1952, where he did a tour in Germany. He owned and operated Sader Electric Company in Olean for 39 years from 1961 until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Sader was a Life-time member of the St. Joseph's Maronite Catholic Church and was a volunteer at all of the their festivals. He was an avid gardener, racquetball player and drove for Interfaith Caregivers for 20 years. Mr. Sader and his wife loved to travel and visited Europe more than 20 times.
Along with his loving wife, Mr. Sader is survived by two sons, Roland "Rick" (Michelle) Cornelius of Ashland, OR, and Timothy W. (Christine) Sader of Olean; one daughter, Ellen M. (Michael) Keenan of Pittsford; six grandchildren, Jacob & Joshua Cornelius, Sean & Emily Keenan, and Matthew & Amanda Sader; one sister, Margaret (Jack) Gertner of Hudson, FL; two brothers, Raymond (Jane) Sader of Cuba Lake, and Robert (Mary Ellen) Sader of Olean; and several nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Joseph's Maronite Rite Catholic Church, Transfiguration Oratory. The Rev. Anthony J. Salim, Pastor, will celebrate.
