Olean- Timothy G. Booth “Loving Son, Brother, Uncle & Friend”
Timothy G. Booth, 66, of 1285 Kamery Road Apt 2, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at home.
Tim was born on November 16, 1956, at the Mountain Clinic Hospital in Olean and was the son of the late Lee and Margaret Patrick Booth.
Tim spent his youth exploring the mountains, the big rocks, and trails while growing up in Rock City. Tim graduated from St. Mary’s Parochial School in 1971 and then Olean High School in 1975. While in high school he ran cross country and track which he excelled at. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Navy where he received an honorable discharge in 1976. After the Navy Tim traveled the country visiting various states and places. He had an adventurous spirit and was always traveling around on his electric bike all the time. He loved nature, animals, fishing, sledding, and gardening. Tim worked for Dresser Clark as a laborer and later worked at Perkins Restaurant as a dishwasher where he received “Employee of the month” award a couple times for his impeccable work ethic. Tim then became disabled and unable to work.
Although he struggled, Tim demonstrated kindness and a loving spirit towards all that knew him. He was a gentle soul and helped as much as possible in caring for his elderly parents until they passed away. Tim was a self-taught expert in herbal medicine. He helped people that were suffering and in pain with natural anti-inflammatory herbs and vitamins. Quite a few people sought him out for advice and stated that he helped them.
Tim continued to garden and share the fruits of his labor with his neighbors, friends, and family. Other interests he had were leek and ginseng digging, reading, and volunteering for the last few years at the Hope Center in Olean.
Tim is survived by his siblings, Sandy (Jim) Foster of Mocksville, NC., Pat (Joanne) Booth of East Amherst, Mark (Diane) Booth of Lansing, NY., Mary Kay Booth of Olean, Nancy (Greg) Reed of Olean, niece Katie (Scott) Rohrer of SC., and nephews Jeff Booth of SC., Jon Booth of CO., Alex (Leanna) Booth of VA., Andy Booth of Buffalo, Shane Booth of Olean, Jamal (Ashley Mousaw) Reed of NC., and Jon (Kristen) Reed of FL., great nieces Iyana, Amani, and Kaylani of FL., and great nephews Colby, Dylan and Dominic of Olean.
