Susan A. Stanley, 71, of 3088 Rt. 16 North, passed away at Buffalo General Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 from complications from a stroke.
Susan Being a life long Resident of Olean was born in Olean on July 26, 1943, and was a daughter of the late Ronald Leon & Dorothy Goodyear Hollowell. She graduated from Olean High School and worked many years at the Olean Times Herald before going to work in the housekeeping at the DeSoto Motel. During those years, Susan made many friends and they were long lasting friendships. Susan was an organ donor and the family takes comfort in knowing that someone can see as a result of her act of kindness. Our hope is this person will see the world and the people in it as she did; the good in everyone and the hope for peace.
Susan is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Joe) Miller of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dorothy (Chris) Patterson of Wellsville; several grandchildren & great grandchildren; a sister, Connie (Phil) Coollick of Pine Grove Mills, PA; two brothers, Gordon (Kathleen) Chase of Lititz, PA, and Ron (Deb) Hollowell of Hinsdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, William Stanley.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
