Shirley A Peters

Hinsdale- Shirley A. Peters “Loving Mother” Shirley A. Peters of 3769 Main Street, formerly of Olean, passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at the Absolut Care of Salamanca following an illness. Shirley was born January 4, 1930 in Franklinville and was the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude Caner Sweet. She married the love of her life Donald J. Peters who predeceased her on October 2, 2011. Shirley was a graduate of Randolph High School. She worked at the Olean Times Herald before moving to Alaska where she worked at a hospital. Shirley returned to the Olean area in 1997. Shirley is survived by; 3 sons, Donald J. (Stacey) Peters Jr. of Hinsdale, Kevin M. Peters of Cicero, and Rich (Laura) Freer of Portville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Robert W. (Patricia) Sweet of Friendship and Bonnie King of Elma. Along with her husband Donald and her parents, Shirley was predeceased by 6 siblings; Charles “Gene” Sweet, Helen Marble, Maxine Cagwin, Paul Sweet, Glenna Couch and Margaret Stearns. Friends will be received on Saturday April 23, 2022, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
