Lucille Yard of 5549 Dutch Hill Road, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 at the Pines Health & Rehab, following a brief illness.
Lucille was born on Oct. 7, 1918 in Allensmills, PA and she was a daughter of Eugene and Adda Callen Mottorn. On March 19, 1938 in Falls Creek, PA she married her husband of 60 years, Rowland B. Yard, who predeceased her on May 18, 1998.
Lucille attended Beachwood High School in Pennsylvania. She worked as a Customer Service Floor Person at GC Murphy Department Store in Buffalo for 15 years, retiring in 1981, at which time they move from Amherst to Ischua.
Lucille enjoyed reading, watching game shows, traveling, and collecting dishes. She truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandson. She was formerly a member of the Ischua Ladies Aid, Ladies Auxiliary, and Bowling League.
Lucille is survived by one son, Robert L. (Debbie) Yard of Lancaster; one daughter, Tina S. (Tim) Schurr of Ft. Pierce, FL; six grandchildren, Mike B. (Dawn) Yard of Friendship, Henry J. (Evelyn) Yard of Angelton, TX, Jeffrey E. Yard of Ischua, Audrey M. (Steve) Knapp of Franklinville, Jayson Yard of Buffalo, and Timothy Schurr of Texas; many great granchildren; one brother, Howard (Ann) Mottorn of Barker; and one sister, Nancy J. (Richard "Dick") Cooper of Gasport.
Along with her loving husband, Lucille was predeceased by one son, Donald B. Yard on Jan. 4, 2013; one sister, Hazel Willson; and two brothers, Robert & Ken Mottorn.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State St., Olean, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda. The Rev. Robert G. Beard for Cuba, will officiate. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda.
