Sally A. Tober of Olean passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Olean General Hospital.
Sally was born September 25, 1949 in Buffalo and was the daughter of Donald A. and Ethel Bender Stoerr. On July 25, 1970, she married her husband of 27 years, Donald J. Tober, who predeceased her June 25, 1998.
Sally was previously employed at ECMC in Buffalo as a hostess, making all those she came in contact with feel comfortable and special. A lover of blues music, birds and gardening; Sally was especially known for her passion for interior design, making ordinary things brim with style and beauty. She also loved frequenting auctions, garage sales and antique shops with her close friends Michael Burke and Gary and Rhonda Anderson of Olean. Sally also loved and adored her feisty cat "Bella".
Sally is survived by her mother, Ethel Stoerr of Sloan; a son, Jason U. Tober of Olean; a daughter, Joanna M. Tober of Narberth, PA.; two brothers, Donald (Marlene) Stoerr, and Eric (Nancy) Stoerr both of Buffalo; a sister, Susan (Willliam) Grigsby of Buffalo; two sisters in law, Mary Joan Tober Walters, and Kasha Petrea; three nephews, Kevin & Keith Stoerr, and Travis Tober; and two nieces, Ashley & Lindsey Walters.
Along with her loving husband, Sally was predeceased by her father, Donald Stoerr; and a brother in law, Robert Tober.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 646 E. State Street, Olean on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. at which time a memorial gathering will be held. The Rev. Brian Garrett of the Olean Community Church will officiate.
