Russel L. Crawford

Russel L. Crawford of 3088 Rt. 16 Winchester Estate Lot #18 passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at home following an illness. Mr. Russel L. Crawford was born on May 11, 1950 in Olean and was the son of Herbert and Elsie Willover Crawford. On January 10, 1970 in Hinsdale he married his wife of 39 years, Patricia Irvin, who survives. Mr. Russel L. Crawford graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1969. He worked at Dresser until his enlistment in the U. S. Army on March 22, 1971, where he served until March 13, 1972 at which time he returned to dresser. Mr. Russel L. Crawford was a former member of the Hinsdale American Legion. Mr. Russel l. Crawford enjoyed fishing, working around the house, but most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and especially his grandchildren. Surviving Mr. Russel L. Crawford besides his wife are four daughters, Jeannette L. (Gary) Vanskiver of Duke Center, Wendy A. (Henry) Kayes of Bloomfield, N.Y., Mellissa S. Crawford of Hinsdale, and Carrie L. (Eric) Sisson of Olean; five brothers, Lewis (Judy) Crawford of Cuba, Loren Crawford of Florida, John Crawford of Pennsylvania, David (Nancy) Crawford of Olean, and Gerry Crawford of Florida; two sisters, Freda (William) Cousins of Olean, and Sherlyn (Scott) McNeil of Wellsville; and eleven grandchildren. Mr. Russel L. Crawford was predeceased by a sister, Marion Studley, and three brothers, Hermon, Harold and Andy Crawford. Friends will be received on Friday, July 24, 2009 from 1-3 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean follow by a 3:30 PM graveside committal service in Mt. View Cemetery Veteran's Field of Honor with honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harebell Post 892. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
