Rosemary Cooley of 1445 Olean Portville Road passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 in the Olean General Hospital, following a short illness.
Mrs. Cooley was born on January 11, 1943 in Olean, NY and was the daughter of Harvard C. and Doris Shaw Hitchcock. On December 22, 1961 in Knapp Creek she married her husband of 46 years, Grant G. Cooley, who predeceased her on November 4, 2008.
Mrs. Cooley graduated from Allegany High School with the class of 1961. She enjoyed her grandchildren and family. Her family meant the world to her and especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. Mrs. Cooley also enjoyed interior decorating and making their house a home.
Surviving Mrs. Cooley are one son, Jeffery G. Cooley of Richmond, VA; two daughters, Christine A. (Ken) Quinn of Friendship, and Kathleen M. (Mike) Lynch of Rotterdam, NY; six grandsons and two granddaughters; one great grandson and two great granddaughters; two brothers, Charles E. (Virginia) Hitchcock, and Harvard M. (Marilyn) Hitchcock both of Knapp Creek; four sisters, Frances (Tony) Bunk of Belfast, Mavis (Herman) Foster of Richburg, Darlene (Ed) Stover of Limestone, and Donna (Bill) Rice of Knapp Creek; a brother-In-Law, Jack Peters of Limestone; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cooley was pre-deceased by a sister, Shirley Peters in 2009, and a grandson, Cameron Lynch in 1998.
Friends will be received on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 6-9 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Dave W. Herne, Pastor of the Heritage of Aflame Ministries in Bolivar will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bowler Cemetery, Genesee, NY.
