Olean- Rose M. Schwabenbauer “No Caption”
Rose M. Schwabenbauer of 1707 Haskell Parkway, formerly of 306 South Barry Street, Olean, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Olean General Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Rose was born on November 6, 1943 in East Brady, PA and was the daughter of Giuseppe and Annie Infantino Sita. On June 8, 1968 in East Brady, PA she married the love of her life Benjamin H. Schwabenbauer who predeceased her on July 27, 2014.
Rose was a class of 1961 graduate of East Brady High School. She continued her education at Clarion University where she got her bachelors degree in education in 1965. Rose was an elementary school teacher at Hillside Elementary in Olean for a few years. She was also a substitute teacher for Limestone Elementary and the Olean City School District.
Rose was a member of the St. Bonaventure Church. She and her husband were volunteers at the Olean Food Pantry for many years. Rose enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and loved bird watching. Two things that Rose truly believed in was education and helping people in need.
Rose is survived by a son, Bryan H. (Kelly) Schwabenbauer of Olean; 2 grandchildren, Gunner B. and Angeline G. Schwabenbauer; a sister, Mary Lascoula of Butler, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her loving husband of 48 years, Benjamin, Rose was predeceased by; 5 siblings, Joseph Sita, Sammuel Sita, Dominic Sita, Paul Sita and Theresa M. Salvo.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bonaventure Church on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Father Michael T. Reyes, OFM, Pastor will celebrate.
