New Port News- Ronald Eugene Frederick “Devoted Husband & Loving Brother & Uncle”

Ronald E. Frederick of Richland Dr. passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Virginia.

Ron was born on December 30, 1941, in Olean and was the son of Herald Clyde and Evelyn Emily Bailey Frederick Sr. He married Ok Hyong who predeceased him on December 4, 2021.

Ron was a 1959 graduate of Portville Central School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Airforce for several years. Ron worked for a security company in Baltimore, MD for about a year before reenlisting in the US Army where he proudly served his country for over 20 years. Following his service he became a truck driver until he retired to take care of his bedridden wife for over 20 years. Ron enjoyed sitting on his front porch and was a neighborhood watchman. He was a member of the Korean Baptist Church in New Port News, VA.

Ron is survived by his brother, William H. “Bill” (Joy) Frederick of Arville, PA., a sister, Bonita A. Frederick of Essex, MD., several nieces and nephews, very close friends, Steve and Bonnie Rowe.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, and a brother Harold C. Frederick, Jr on June 27, 2007.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00pm where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00am. Full military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery.
