Rodney R. Waldrip, of 2456 Windfall Road, passed away Sunday (July 8, 2012) in the Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Rod was born on Jan. 9, 1951, in Lock Haven, Pa., and was a son of Jeffie and Anne Galbraith Waldrip. On July 14, 2008, he married Jean I. Beyers, who survives.
Rod was a 1969 graduate of Olean High School. He began working at Clark Brothers in Olean almost right out of school, and, after over 40 years, he continued to work at Dresser-Rand as an inspector until 2011 when he stopped due to illness.
Surviving Rod besides his wife are his mother, Ann Waldrip of Olean; a son, Jason A. Waldrip of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Gregory R. (Christine) Waldrip of Ashburn, Va.; a half-sister, Karan (Mark) Cook of Warren, Pa.; and two nephews, Greg and Andrew.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday (July 14, 2012) at 11 a.m. in the Bethany Lutheran Church, 1706 Leo Moss Dr., Olean. The Rev. Marie A. Meeks, pastor, will officiate. A reception will be held following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church, 1706 Leo Moss Dr., Olean, NY 14760, or to Johns Hopkins Medicine, One Charles Center, 100 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21201 to any of their departments.
