Olean- Robert C. Schwindler “Loving Father, Grandfather & Brother”

Robert C. Schwindler of North 7^th Street passed away on Tuesday August 15, 2023, at Olean General Hospital following an illness.

Bob was born on September 3, 1946, in Lockport, NY., and was the son of George Harold and Margherita Josephine Carriere Schwindler. On July 3, 1971, at St. Mary’s in Lockport he married Helen M. Eifert who predeceased him on October 3, 2020.

Bob was a 1964 graduate of Star Point High School. He enlisted in the United States Marines on September 29, 1966 until he was honorably discharged on February 20, 1970. Bob became an auto mechanic and worked for Kmart in Allegany, Monroe Muffler, Borad Elm Tire, and then J+R Auto in Weston Mills for 20 years until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Allegany American Legion and a Lifetime member of the Marine Corps League out of Mt. Jewett.

Bob is survived by his four children: Verity A. Schwindler, Sarita L. Schwindler, Kara L. (Tammy) Schwindler, and Gina M. Schwindler all of Olean, three grandchildren: Brianna M. Schwindler, Hayden R. Schwindler, and Joshua L. Koch, a sister, Mary-Camille Schwindler, many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, wife, Helen, and two brothers; David and Joseph Schwindler.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held. Deacon Matt Wenke will officiate.  Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
