OLEAN/GENEVA-Robert Carey peacefully passed away on March 6, 2024, while at Absolute Care of Allegany.
Robert was born in Geneva on March 1, 1929, to Fred and Margaret (Monaco) Carey.
Robert served in the US Army from 1948 to 1952 and then spent most of his adult life in Cincinnati Ohio where he worked for the Ohio State Department of Social Services. He later resided in Pittsburg, Pa. and Olean, NY.
Robert was a devout Catholic and an avid prayer. He spent much of his time praying for the needs of others. Robert donated his body to the University of Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine, Anatomical Gift Program.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 9:30am at the Basilica of St. May of the Angels. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Geneva at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Robert’s favorite place to make charitable donations was St Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Donations can be made to the St Jude’s Childrens Hospital in memory of Robert Carey.
