Olean – Richard J. Tarr "Loving Father, Son, & Brother"
Richard J. Tarr, of 628 Garden Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at his home, following an illness.
Richard was born on May 21, 1980 in Olean and was a son of Julie L. (Bill) Harter.
Richard was a 2000 graduate of Portville Central School, where he excelled at baseball and played many pickup basketball games in the park. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but he truly loved his son, who was the Apple of his Eye. Richard loved spending time with his son and taking him outdoors to the park and on hikes. He formerly attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Richard is survived by; his mother, Julie L. Harter of Olean; his son, Chanse A. Tarr; 3 siblings, Jessie M. (Linda) Tarr of Olean, Bradley A. (Rebecca) Tarr of Woodbridge, VA, and Staci M. (Tony Brockel) Tarr of Olean; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends, including Terry Wymer of Olean.
Richard was predeceased by his father, Bill Harter on April 22.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
