Richard L. Keller of 433 North 9th Street passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, at ECMC, Buffalo, following a lengthy illness.
Richard was born on October 23, 1953, in Olean N.Y., the son of Lawrence R. and Anna E. (Heil) Keller. A life long resident of Olean, and a graduate from Olean High School, he served in the workforce at Cutco of Olean, for 41 years. Richard was a man who enjoyed a quiet simple life. He was a avid chess player who enjoyed bi-weekly chess games with his friends. He was also a firearms enthusiast. Richard was a member of Olean's Eagle Lodge and former member of the Elks, Moose, St. Stephens, and CC lodge of Olean.
Surviving Richard are one son, Joshua Keller of Olean; one brother, Gerald (Diana) Keller of Ellicottville; five sisters, Joyce (Donald) Beechner of Rochester, Kathleen (David) Zimmer of Rochester, Janice (Thomas) Christ of Spencerport, Debra Keller of Olean, and Lori (Bruno) DeGiglio of Olean; and several neices and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by, his parents, a brother Lawrence Keller, and two sisters Joan Aloi and Carolyn Jean Neuland.
Friends will be received Monday, March 3, 2014, in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in the St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson will celebrate. Burial will be in St Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
