Allegany- Richard E. “Dickie” Gleason, Jr. “Loving Husband, Father & Papa”
Richard E. Gleason, Jr. of 3771 Carey Hollow Road passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at his home.
Dickie was born February 10, 1959 in Coudersport, PA and was the son of Richard E. and Georgia E. Sherwin Gleason, Sr. On June 15, 1991 in Allegany he married Cheryl L. Dempsey who survives.
Dickie started working at a young age at a sawmill and then became a logger for about a year both in PA. After moving to NY and began working for Boser Landscape and then Stroehmann’s Bakery in May of 1989 until his retirement in 2019 after 30 years.
Dickie enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, tying flies for fly fishing and being outdoors but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and his dog Ruger. Dickie was known as a genuine person and was always willing to help teach and take people under his wings for hunting and fishing.
Along with his loving wife, Cheryl, Dickie is survived by; 3 children, Richard E. (Danielle Conklin) Gleason, Shaun L. (Jessie) Gleason both of Allegany and Colleen Gleason of Olean; 2 grandchildren, Destiny and Samuel; 3 sisters, Nancy Y. Smith of Apathy Juancho, AZ, Carol Matthias of West Clarksville and Susie M. (Bob Powell) Gleason of East Liverpool, OH and many nieces and nephews.
Dickie was predeceased by; his parents and 2 sisters, Eileen M. Chouinard and Patricia Gleason.
