Hinsdale – Raymond Lee "Ray" Whitwood "Beloved Husband, Father, & Brother"
Raymond L. Whitwood, of 2987 Rogers Road, lost his fight to COVID-19 on Thursday, February 18, 2021, following his stay at Olean General Hospital.
Ray was born on September 1, 1960 in Olean and was a son of James and Jean Larrabee Whitwood. On Sept. 21, 1996, he married his wife of over 24 years, Lisa M. Raynor, who survives.
Ray was a graduate of Clymer Central School. He was a "jack of all trades," but he enjoyed construction the most. Ray spent most of his free time at the local dirt racetrack. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, kayaking, building racecars, and boiling maple syrup with his many friends and family. Ray was a very big-hearted, caring man that would do anything to put a smile on your face. He was always there to lend a helping hand.
Along with his loving wife, Ray is survived by; 5 children, Chris Whitwood of Hinsdale, Kyle (Laurena) Whitwood of Bell, FL, Aaron (Pami) Raynor of Sinclairville, Alyssa Whitwood, and Austan Whitwood both of Allegany; many grandchildren who were his pride and joy; and 4 siblings, Robert (Rhonda) Whitwood of Bell, FL, Regina (Eddie) Roush of Bowling Green, KY, Benjamin (Destinie) Whitwood, and Jody (Carl) Whitwood both of Allegany.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Tabitha Whitwood, and a baby brother.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at which time a Funeral Service will be held.
