Phyllis A. Doyle of 500 E Spring Street Aspen Manor Apt. 5, passed away Tuesday May 3, 2011 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care.
Mrs. Doyle was born on June 30, 1921 in Belfast and was the daughter of Ward A. and Carol V. Gleason Wilday. She married her husband John S. Doyle in 1944 in Olean, he pre-deceased her in 1992.
Mrs. Doyle was a 1940 Graduate of Olean High School and she attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA and the Ohio University in Athens, OH. She worked at various positions in her career and they lived not only in New York but Florida and Georgia, where she worked for Lord & Taylor Department Store in customer service department. She will be remembered as having a quit whit and loved to laugh, she enjoyed playing golf and she was known for her hats.
Surviving Phyllis are one grandson, Jayson Doyle of Anderson, SC; a sister in law, Mary C. Wilday of Olean; one nephew, Ward "Skip" (Greta) Wilday of Cuba; two nieces, Paula W. (Paul) Wilday- Chisholm of Lafayette, IL, and Cindy W (Steve) Ebsary of East Amherst; several great nieces and nephens; and beloved cat Buffy.
Mrs. Doyle was pre-deceased by a son, John S. Doyle; a brother, Ward G. Wilday on July 30, 2009; a sister, Evelyn Wilday; a niece, Sarah E. Bradley on June 30, 2009; and a great niece Kaleigh E. Wilday in Sept. of 2002.
Friends will be received on Sat. May 7, 2011 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 646 East State Street from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Larry Poelma, Pastor of the Cuba First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery.
