Phillip L. Siago of 402 North 8th Street, passed away Tuesday Dec. 21, 2010 at home following a battle with cancer.
Mr. Siago was born on October 13, 1950 in Olean and he was a son of Halley E. and Marie E. Pitts Siago. He was formerly married to Linda Ross. On February 13, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV he married Valarie A. Clarke, who survives.
Phil was a 1969 graduate of Olean High School. He worked as a Union Carpenter for 30 years. Phil also worked at Dresser Rand, Olean School District in the Maintenance Dept., and taught at BOCES for a period of time. He was a coach of football and soccer (youth league) for many years. In Oct. 2000, Phil opened the Phil-N- Station on West State Street, which he still was currently operating. Phil enjoyed playing softball, pool, cards, riding his Harley and traveling, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Siago is survived by his mother, Marie E. Siago of Allegany; a son, Shawn M. Siago of Allegany; three stepchildren, Robert P. Blaske of Ischua, Tera (Steven) Henderson of Friendswood, TX, and Alexander C. Blaske at home; a daughter, Michelle M. (Art Elliott) Borden of Olean; five grandchildren, twins, Alexis & Courtney Borden, Christopher Borden Landon Miller and Steven Terrence Henderson; a brother, Halley E. (Colleen) Siago of Olean; two sisters, Michelle (Kim) Hund of Olean, and Rene (Roger) Wildfire of Hinsdale; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Siago is predeceased by his father, Halley E. Siago, Sr. on Aug. 11, 1973.
Friends will be received today, Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where Funeral and Committal services will be held on Friday Dec. 24, 2010 in the funeral home at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olean Youth Little League.
