Pearl R. Brown

September 25, 1940 — April 13, 2015

Pearl R. Brown of 132 North Union St., passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Olean General Hospital, following a short illness. Pearl was born Sep. 25, 1940 in Olean and was a daughter of Leslie and Nina E. Wilbur Weatherley. On Nov. 2, 1957, in Olean she married her husband of 49 years, John L. Brown, who predeceased her on Dec. 1, 2006. Pearl worked at both the DeSoto Motel and then St. Bonaventure University in the Housekeeping Department for many years. She also cleaned for private family residences in the Olean area. Pearl was a member of the Olean Revival Center. She enjoyed cleaning and church activities. Pearl is survived by twin sons, Rodney A. Brown of Hinsdale, and Ronald L. (Vietta) Brown of Farmersville; two daughters, Paula N. Rethmel of Olean, and Wendy L. (Dan) Auvil of Olean; nine grandchildren, Brandon Rethmel, Latoria Brown, Christopher Brown, Rachelle Boyd, Ashley Brown, Jamar Boyd, Ahman Burney, Jr., Cody Brown, and Brenda Brown; four great grandchildren, Mariah Rethmel, Trey Rethmel, Marcus Rethmel, Keilani Ramadhan; and five siblings, Gerry Blade of Salamanca, Bob Weatherley of Humphrey, Paul (Joyce) Weatherley of Texas, Dorothy Guerin of Hammondsport, and Carl Weatherley of Cuba. Along with her loving husband, Pearl was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Hollamby & Virginia Weatherley; four brothers, LaVern, Raymond, Daniel, & Gerald Weatherley; and a granddaughter, Brenda Brown. Friends will be received on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Olean Revival Center on 13th & Washington, Olean. The Rev. Gerald Slack, Pastor of the Sacred Temple of God in Christ, in the absence of Brother Ronald Frazer, will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be to the Olean Revival Center, 13th & Washington St., Olean, New York 14760. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
