Norma L. Gallagher Clark

Norma L. Gallagher Clark of 2936 Five Mile Road, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 in the Olean General Hospital, following an brief illness. Norma was born Oct. 13, 1930 in Cuba and she was the daughter of Harry C. and Jennie I. Tucker Taylor. She was formerly married to William Peters, John "Jack" Gallagher and Richard Clark. Norma first worked for Farnsworth Cookies and then Cuba Memorial Hospital before going to work at the Olean General Hospital. She worked at OGH in the housekeeping department for more than 30 years retiring in 1995 as a manger. Following her retirement she continued going to the Olean General Hospital where she would volunteer in the Gift Shop and she also volunteered at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Norma not only volunteered at the hospitals, but she would knit afghans and lap blankets and give them to the area nursing home residents to keep them warm. She was a avid gardener and truly loved to read. She also collected books, hundreds of books. She was know around town as the "Flower Lady" by the way she would decorate her car according to the season with different flowers. Norma is survived by a daughter, Kim L. (Dave) Kwiatkowski of Olean; a son, Thomas Peters of SC; a special daughter in law, Cindy Rouse of Hinsdale; two step children, Jack and Jody; three grandchildren, Ashley Baire, Greg & Scott Benjamin; a brother, Thomas T. (Bernadette) Taylor of Cuba; many nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat Jenny. Norma was pre-deceased by a son, William "Chip" Peters, Jr.; a daughter, Suzanne Benjamin; a granddaughter, Jennifer Peters; and six siblings, Hurbert Taylor, Genevieve A. Peters, Gretchen R. Kelly, Roberta Jeanne Taylor, Nellie E. Brown & Hazen H. Taylor. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home #24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at which time Funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Millard Cook, Associate Pastor of the Olean First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, NY.
