Neil D. Blauser of 2610 Wildcat Road passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Olean General Hospital following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Blauser was born on December 28, 1942 in Olean and was the son of Wade and Rena Vecillio Blauser. On November 14, 1963, he married Paulette Yale, who survives.
Mr. Blauser worked as a truck driver for Work & Silvis for 31 years, retiring in 1997. After retiring from Work & Silvis, he became the Town Olean Highway Superintendent. A position he held for over 10 years, retiring in 2008. Mr. Blauser was a life long member of the Olean Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of both the Olean VFW and the Four Wheel Club. He enjoyed camping and riding his motorcycle, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family whom he truly loves.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Mr. Blauser is survived by a son, David P. (Anne) Blauser of Allegany; three daughters, Terri A. (Stephen) Wilber of Olean, Denise P. Blauser of Buffalo, and Donna R. Blauser of Buffalo; a brother, Frederick D. (Phyllis) Blauser of Seneca, PA.; a sister, Joan Palumbo of Olean; eight grandchildren, Jeanna, Sean, Adam, Heather, Amberlie, Madison, Taylor and Morgan; and several nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. The Rev. Albert Batt, Associate Pastor of the Southside Chapel in Olean will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery, Olean, New York.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Olean General Hospital Foundation.
