Bolivar- Millicent J. “Mickey” Learn “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”
Millicent J. “Mickey” Learn of 7883 State Rt. 417, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at the Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility, following a long illness.
Mickey was born on April 22, 1932 in Olean and was the daughter of Charles and Loretta Shirey Knowlton. On Nov. 13, 1948 in the Maplehurst Baptist Church she married the love of her life Hershal D. Learn who predeceased her on March 3, 2003.
She was fondly known by many as Grandma Mickey. Her caring and compassionate spirit was a true reflection of God’s grace. Everyone who knew her could attest to her selflessness. Mickey was always helping others in a time of need regardless of the circumstances. During her life she was a true servant of God. For many years she was an active member in the church community and also taught Sunday school.
Mickey is survived by; 3 children, Michael R. (Alberta) Learn of Bolivar, Debra A. Hollowell of Florida and Steven D. Learn of Richburg; 6 grandchildren, John, Michael, Michelle, Steven, Brian and Leala and her sister Sharon (Daryl) Burlingame of Randolph.
Along with her loving husband of 55 years, Mickey was predeceased by her parents and 3 siblings, Charles “Shorty” Knowlton, Aretta Newton and William “Bill” Knowlton.
Friends will be received on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022 at 10:00 am. The Rev. Carl H. Kemp, Pastor of Knights Creek Church will officiate. Burial will be next to her husband in the Cattaraugus County Veterans Field of Honor in Mt. View Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
