Bowmansville – Michael L. Shaw "Loving Son, Father, and Brother"
Michael L. Shaw, 44, of 18 Maple Drive, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving children & family.
Mike was born on April 23, 1976 in Olean and was the son of John Jay and Barbara Hooper Shaw.
Mike was a District Manager for Starbucks Coffee before becoming a Manager of his own Starbucks Store in Blasdell for about 5 years. He then moved on to work for Geico Insurance Company as a paralegal for 15 years until he became ill.
Mike enjoyed life to its fullest and loved to travel all over the world including Costa Rica & the Bahamas. He loved listening to music and entertaining his friends & family. He always put others first and himself last for their happiness on a daily basis. He found joy in other people's happiness and that was his motive to keep going. Day in and day out, Mike worked from sun up until sun down. He will be remembered as a very caring & giving person who always made sure people had what they needed.
Mike is survived by; his adopted children, Sydney, Jakarri & Alfred Shaw all of Buffalo; his father, John Shaw; a brother Jeff (Lisa Curtis) Shaw of Olean; niece and nephews, Ryan (Caitlin), Janelle, and Zachary; great niece and nephew, Rylin and Raigan Curtis; his grandmother June Hooper; his aunt and uncle, Debbie and Daryl Campagnari; his close friend, Rob Rodriguez; and several cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Anastasia, his grandparents, Leon & Dorothy Shaw, and his grandfather, Gordon Hooper.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc.,646 East State Street, Olean, on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at which time a Remembrance/Celebration will be held. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com
