Olean – Mary S. McCole “Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother”
Mary S. McCole of 1705 Godfrey Hollow, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home.
Mary was born July 13, 1936 in Olean and was a daughter of Lloyd H. and Catherine C. Keniery Smith. On August 10, 1963, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, she married her husband of 57 years, Charles J. McCole who survives.
Mary was a 1953 graduate of Hinsdale Central School. She worked for Exchange National Bank from 1953 to 1963 as a Secretary in the loan department. Mary later worked part time at Mandy’s in 1971 until around 1995 where she only worked holiday season after that. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served as secretary, she was a member of the choir, youth counselor, superintendent and teacher of the Sunday school and chairman of the board for the Immanuel Christian Child Care. Mary enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting, and picture painting.
Along with her husband, Mary is survived by; 3 sons, Michael C. (Denice) McCole of Auburn, David J. (Cindy) McCole of Doniphan, MO, and Andrew D. (Stacy) McCole of Shippensburg, PA; 7 Grandchildren, Brendan, Danielle, Katlyn, Sean, Meghan, Jacob and Hayden; 6 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by 3 siblings, David L. Smith, James E. Smith and Kathleen J. Polmateer.
Friends will be received at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean.
