Margaret A. Swatt

Margaret A. Swatt of 1214 Walnut Street passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 in the Olean General Hospital, flowing a lengthy illness. Mrs. Swatt was born on November 1, 1940 in Olean and was a daughter of James and Sophie Stavish Gibbons. She married her husband on Dec. 10, 1966 in Olean and he pre-deceased her in 1980. Mrs. Swatt was a 1958 graduate of Olean High School. She worked first at Olean Market Baskets for about 10 years starting in the late 1970's. She later worked at Paycam Metal Products in North Olean for 23 years retiring in April of 2003. Mrs. Swatt enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing & crafts and reading. She was a member of the St. Stephan's Club Lady's Aux. Surviving Mrs. Swatt are a son, James J. (Suzanne) Swatt of Castile; a daughter, Mary K. (Eric) Parr of Olean; three grandchildren, Zachary S. & Grace E. Parr and Sydnee C. Swatt; two brothers, James Gibbons of Olean, and David Gibbons of Ocala, Fl.; and four step children. Friends are invited for a time of remembrance at her home (1214 Walnut Street, Olean) tonight (Monday Sept. 27) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Burial will follow. The Rev. Dr. William A. Allen, Co-Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Olean Public Library 132 North Second Street, Olean, NY 14760 or to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in complete and are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean.
