Margaret Booth, 89, of 109 North 17th Street, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at the Olean Pines Health & Rehabilitation, following an illness.
Born on Saturday, Oct. 31st, in Westline, Pa. she was a daughter of the late Frank & Julia Kelence Patrick. On June 22, 1950 in Sheffield, Pa. she married Lee F. "Red" Booth, who pre-deceased her on Nov. 9, 2005.
Margaret attended Westline Schools. She worked in a number of places including the Ennis Hotel in Westline, Pa. and being a nanny to Joey & Joann children to Mary & Joe Bizzak. Most of all Margaret enjoyed being a homemaker who loved her family Margaret will be remembered as spunky lady with faith, values & principles like honesty, integrity & loyalty, which is how she raised her children. She will also be remembered as a giving & caring person who would literally put her life on hold to help others. Margaret was known for her baking & decorating of cakes, which she received several awards for. She also enjoyed going to all her grandchildren sporting events, she loved cooking, gardening including feeding all the wild life, polka music and going to all the area church festivals and yard sales.
Margaret is survived by six children, Sandra (Jim) Foster of Mocksville, NC, Patrick (Joanne) Booth of E. Amherst, NY, Mark (Diane) Booth of Lansing, NY, Timothy Booth of Olean, Mary Kay Booth of Olean, and Nancy (Greg) Reed of Olean; Eight grandchildren, Jonathan Booth of Massachusetts, Katrina Booth of South Carolina, Jeffrey Booth of South Carolina, Shane (Sara Levia) Booth of Olean and their sons Colby & Dylan Booth, Jamal Reed of Olean, Senior Airman E-4 Jonathan (Kristin) Reed, Air Force, stationed in New Mexico and their daughters Amani & Iyana, Private First Class Alexander Booth, US Army, stationed in State of Washington, Andrew Booth of E. Amherst, NY, several nieces & nephews including: Dick (Kathleen) Patrick of Oklahoma, Phyllis Patrick of Purchase NY and Julia (Joe) Tanner of Smethport, Pa. and Carol (Charlie) Ventura of Tonawanda, NY; and several great nieces & great nephews.
In addition to Margaret's parents and husband she was also pre-deceased by brothers, Frank, Charles, Andrew, John and Mike Patrick; s sister, Mary Patrick Olson; and a granddaughter, Alison Booth.
A Memorial Service will be St. John's Church on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Edward Sheedy, Pastor of St. John's Church will officiate. There will be a Prayer Service at St. Mary Church on February 3rd 2015 at 7:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joyful Rescues, 1319 Turock Drive, Cuba NY 14727.
