Loretta M. Farwell, formerly of 6082 Rawson Road Cuba and the Aspen Manor passed away May 23, 2010 at the Pines Health & Rehab in Olean.
Mrs. Farwell was born on November 16, 1918 and was the daughter of Robert H. and Emeline Miller Learn. On July 30, 1941 in Great Valley, she married her husband of 56 years who predeceased her on Nov. 29, 1997.
Mrs. Farwell was a graduate of Ten Brook Academy in Franklinville. She also went to beauty school and worked as a beautician in the area. Mrs. Farwell with her husband worked on the family farm on the Rawson Rd. for almost 30 years until 1997. She worked in the Cuba Hospital Gift Shop and the Cuba Nutrition Site for several years.
Mrs. Farwell was a life long member of the Rawson Baptist Church and was also a past member the Rawson Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening but most of all she loved being with her family.
Mrs. Farwell is survived by a daughter, Karen Rose Forsyth of Spring, TX; a grandson, D J (Meagan) Forsyth of The Woodlands, TX; a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Taylor Forsyth; a great grandson, Brady Paul Forsyth; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Farwell predeceased by an infant daughter, Jean Farwell; three sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Washburn, Evelyn L. Dunlap and Reberta Jean Forrest; and a brother, Harry Learn.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM The Rev. Carol Holmes, Pastor of the Rawson Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Hinsdale Cemetery, Hinsdale, NY.
