Lois K. Luther

Lois K. Luther of 1726 Andrews Street passed away on Wed. Dec. 31, 2014 in the Olean General Hospital. Lois was born Feb. 19, 1936 in Cuba and was a daughter of Arthur Raymond and Mollie Nichols Hurd. She was formerly married to Sidney James Luther. Lois raised her family, did crafts, worked around the home and in the yard planting flowers to make their house a home. She enjoyed life and she loved her children. Lois is survived by one son, Donald Arthur Luther of Akron, OH; two daughters, Lucinda D. "Cindy" (Douglas) Skiver of Deltona, FL, and Linda K. (Thomas) Kinaird of Olean; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Joan M. Sumner of Grand Island; many nieces & nephews; and a close friend, Robert Dobbin of Olean. Lois was predeceased by an infant son, Bruce Wayne Luther in 1957; a son, Terry Lee Luther in August of 2008; her twin brothers, Wayne & Dwayne Hurd; a brother, Wilber Hurd; and two sisters, Yvonne Hurd & Louise Doty. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at which time a Funeral Service will be held. The Rev. Daniel E. McDowell, Pastor of the Olean First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
