Linnae Granger Nicholas of 13 Stevens Avenue, Cuba, NY passed away Wednesday (June 18, 2008) at home after a short courageous fight against cancer.
Linnae was born in Olean, NY on October 31, 1956 to Robert and Emma Lou Forness, Granger. On August 23, 1985 in The St. Mary's of The Angels Church she married Ronald Nicholas. She attended St. Bonaventure Parochial School and Allegany Central School. She graduated from St. Bonaventure University Magna Cum Laude and also received her Master of Science in Education from St. Bonaventure in May 1983. Linnae taught for 29 years in several school districts, Portville, Bolivar, Allegany, Honeoye falls, Belfast, and Cuba-Rushford. She also had several articles published in The Mailbox Magazine and The Good Apple Newspaper. Mrs. Nicholas hobbies included scrap booking & card making, antiquing, cooking and spending time on Cap Cod.
Surviving Mrs. Nicholas besides her Husband are two sisters, Kelly (Joe) Williams of Allegany and Aimie Himes of Olean; one brother, Robert Granger of Olean; one aunt, Charlene Granger; seven much loved nieces, Kayt, Julia, Paige, Allex, Madison, Joey and Gillian; and a sister by choice, Mrs. Karen DeFrancisco of Syracuse, NY.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 646 East State St. Olean, NY Friday June 20, 2008 from 2-4 &7-9 PM . Prayer Services will be held in the Funeral Home. June 21 at 8;30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in The St. Mary's of The Angels Church at 9:00 AM. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson will officiate with The MSGR William Gallagher co officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
