Mrs. Linda M. Van Sickle of 29 Harriet Street passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Millard Fillmore Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Van Sickle was born Jan. 8, 1942 in Hornell and was a daughter of Frank & Ethel Stone Wyant, Sr. On Nov. 26, 1966 she married her husband of almost 43 years William P. Van Sickle who survives.
Mrs. Van Sickle was a 1960 graduate of Hornell High School. She continued her education in the 1970's and graduated from Alfred State in 1976 as a Registered Nurse. She began working at Olean General Hospital, where she was an ER Nurse until 1994. Mrs. Van Sickle's whole life was centered around her family. She enjoyed being with them and loving them and especially her grand and great grandchildren. She truly was a loving wife, mother and grand mother.
Surviving Mrs. Van Sickle besides her husband are her mother, Ethel Wyant of Hornell; a son, Frank R. (Theresa) Van Sickle of Portville; two daughters, Tammie S. (Collin) Champlin of Ontario, NY, and Michelle L. (Jeffery) Platt of Portville; 10 grandchildren, Keli Van Sickle (Tim Collins), Kristen (Adam) Scott, Kole Katsigiannis, Allison Van Sickle, Frank Van Sickle, Jr., Erica (Scott) Kostusiak, Cameron (Christina) Frost, Paige Johnson, Kiel Platt and Logan Champlin; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister, Karen (John) Gemmell of Hornell.
Mrs. Van Sickle was pre-deceased by her father; her brother, Frank Wyant, Sr.; and a great granddaughter, Adrianna Kostusiak.
Friends will be received on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Matthew T. Worley, Pastor of the River's Edge United Methodist Church in Portville, will officiate. Burial will be Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
