Linda A. Chapin, formerly of the Five Mile and most recently a resident at the Rehab Home on Osgood Ave in Olean, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 in the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
Linda was born on Sept. 4, 1944 in Olean and was a daughter of Robert M. and Lillian A. Anger Chapin.
Linda was resident of Allegany most of her life. She was employed at Sub-Con Industries for 37 years and retired in March of 2006. Linda was a member of the Harvest Field Outreach Center in Olean and for many years attended the Allegany Presbyterian Church with her family. She will be remembered as a very friendly person who enjoyed being with people, watching TV, shopping for jewelry and eating out. She also enjoyed participating in the Life Skills Day Program through the Rehab home where she resided.
Linda is survived by a sister, Sandra J. (Robert) Foster of Allegany; an aunt, Doris (Bill) Bonhoff of Allegany; an uncle, Paul (Arlene) Chapin of Allegany; a niece and four nephews; her step mother, Gloria Chapin Spring of Allegany; and many other relatives and friends.
Linda was pre-deceased by her parents and a sister, Mary E. Chapin on June 17, 1964.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Douglas E. Travis, Pastor, of the Harvest Field Out Reach Center will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany.
