Linda V. Adames of 126 South 2nd Street passed away Wed. July 16, 2014 in the Cuba Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Linda was born Aug. 25, 1946 in Hoboken, NJ and was a daughter of Otto and Gertrude Klink Schlegel. On Sep. 14, 1974 in Jersey City, NJ she married her husband of almost 40 years, Norberto J. "Norby" Adames, who survives.
Linda graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in 1964. She and her husband, Norby, moved to Olean from Jersey City, NJ in 1990. Linda worked in offices for several different companies through Kelly Temporary Service in Olean and while in New Jersey she was a typist in one office and as a mail clerk for an attorney in New York City. Linda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cuba and the Hinsdale Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Linda's greatest joy was helping other people. She was a full time Regular Pioneer/Minister for over 27 years.
Along with her loving husband, Norby, Linda is survived by two nephews, John (Carrie) Adames of Elkland, PA, and Raymond (Jennifer) Adames of Buffalo; and two brother-in-laws, Juan Adames of Corning, and Jorge Adames of Olean.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760, Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with Funeral Services to follow. Elder Lee Weinert will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
