Leroy C. Weaver

LeRoy C. Weaver, formerly of 3798 Main St., passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Jones Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. LeRoy was born Nov. 10, 1930 in Waterloo and was a son of Stanley J. and Arlene E. O'Dell Weaver. On Aug. 30, 1975, at the Hinsdale United Methodist Church he married his wife of 24 years Lorraine S. Hollowell, who predeceased him Nov. 25, 1999. LeRoy worked as a foreman for L.S. Lee & Sons Construction Company out of York, PA., which does road work, and he was instrumental in putting guard rails on much of the Interstate 86. He worked for Cooper Industries for 10 years until his retirement in about 1992. LeRoy then went to work as a greeter at Wal-Mart until about 2002. He is a former member of the Phelps Fire Department and a Life Member of the Hinsdale Fire Department. LeRoy was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He also enjoyed die cast car collecting. LeRoy is survived by two sons, Gary Bruce (Terri) Weaver of Jacksonville, FL, and Stanley Weaver of Geneva; one daughter, Terri Rogers of Rushford Lake; one stepson, Gary R. (Anne Free) Siminski of Hinsdale; several grandchildren; one brother, Dwayne G. (Linda) Weaver of Waterloo; and one sister, Sandy Lisenring of Virginia. Along with his loving wife, LeRoy was predeceased by one sister, Wilma Ward in 1985. Friends will be received Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, from 10:00 AM to Noon, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
