Kingman W. Page of 1974 Windfall Road and Eden Heights, passed away Tuesday December 21, 2010 in the Olean General Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Page was born on December 5, 1917 in Olean, NY and was the son of Willson K. and Madeline Quirin Page.
Mr. Page was 1936 graduate of Olean High School. He later graduated from Cornel University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his licensed to practice engineering in 1945. Mr. Page worked for General Electric for about 6 years before returning to Olean and going to work for Dresser as an Engineer. He worked at Dresser for 36 years retiring in 1982.
Mr. Page was an 80 year member of the First Baptist Church in Olean, where served on the board of trustees for over 50 years. At the church he was also a member of the Builder Sunday School Class and served on the buildings community. Mr. Page was instrumental in the rebuilding of the First Baptist Church in 1974 through donating some of his families property and provide financial support for the new church.
Mr. Page will be remembered as being a generous man who would quietly an anomalously give too many in the community & beyond with a goal of spreading the love & the word of Jesus Christ.
Mr. page is survived by a cousin, Robert (Marg) Schaumleffel of Olean; special friend, Elsie K. Smith and close friends Phillip & Donna Smith all of Olean.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and a sister Elizabeth Page Greenawalt.
Friends will be received in the Olean First Baptist Church on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 from 9:00 am to 10:00am at which time Funeral and Committal services will be held. The Rev. Daniel McDowell, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
