Olean – Kevin L. Hanchett     "Loving Father, Son, & Brother"

            Kevin L. Hanchett, of 2245 West State Street, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

            Kevin was born on January 24, 1958 in Olean and was a son of Robert C. and Annabelle Hardy Hanchett.  He was formerly married to Sherri Bearden.

            Kevin was a 1976 graduate of Portville Central School.  He served in the US Navy from April 17, 1978 to January 16, 1985.  Kevin began working, in 1986, at Electric Boat Submarine Manufacturing in Grotton, CT where he wrote Technical Manuals for various submarines for about 10 years before moving to California, where he worked a number of jobs before becoming disabled.

            Kevin enjoyed history and was a real "History Buff."  He also taught himself how to play the piano and enjoyed building models, while in an assisted living facility. But most important to him was spending time with his family.  Kevin truly loved his Lord, Jesus.

            Kevin is survived by; 2 sons, Jesse D. (Maria) Hargrove of Los Angeles, CA and Brian S. Hanchett of San Diego, CA; his mother, Annabelle Hanchett of Olean; 4 siblings, LeRoy A. (Susan) Hanchett of Bolivar, Timothy J. (Joni) Hanchett of Corinth, Gary R. (Dina) Hanchett, and Cheryl L. (Dave) Gelder both of Olean; 1 niece, Ashley; and 3 nephews, Brandon, Joshua, and Michael.

            Kevin was predeceased by his father on December 3, 1983.

            Friends will be received at the Crosstown Alliance Church, 1513 Main Street, Olean on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at which time a Funeral Service will be held.  The Rev. Andy Hall, Pastor, will officiate.
