Cuba- Kathleen “Kathie” Bump “Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Friend”
Kathleen Bump of Drew Circle, passed away in the early morning hours of December 16, 2024 at her home.
Kathie was born November 7, 1949 in Rochester and was the daughter of Harry Joseph and Nicolene Marion (Epolito) Gombetto. On May 16, 1968 in Fort Dix, NJ she married her loving husband of 56 years, David J. Bump who survives.
Kathie was a 1967 graduate of R.L. Thomas High School. She attended Peter Webb School of Hair Design in Rochester and obtained her hairdressing license, becoming the family hairdresser. Kathie taught aerobics at the YMCA for a number of years and was a receptionist at Southern Tier Optical for 22 years.
Kathie was a member of the Immanual Lutheran Church in Olean and the Trinity Lutheran Church in FL. Her faith guided her life and she was committed to her churches and their communities. She enjoyed going out with her Tuesday Tippers Group and her once-a-month get-togethers with her Bunko group. Kathie was also very creative and artistic. She was active in the local art shows and would draw and paint. Some of her canvases were rocks and palm fronds. Most of all Kathie loved her family. Nothing would bring a smile to her face faster than knowing she would be spending time with her loved ones. Over the years she spent loads of time on the sidelines and in the stands cheering on her children. Even after her children became adults, she still attended Brian’s hockey games and Jodie’s colorguard shows whenever she could.
Along with her loving husband, Dave, Kathie is survived by; 2 children, Brian D. Bump of Clearwater, FL and Jodie L. (Joe) Noll of Hinsdale; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Bump and Dylan Bump both of Clearwater, FL, Toby (Makayla Burnett) Nelson of Weston Mills and Izzie Noll of Hinsdale; 2 great grandchildren, Liam and Penny; and a half-brother, Michael (Tracey) Cragin of Sebastian, FL.
Kathie was predeceased by her parents.
