Katherine M. Brinkwart of 273 Munger Hollow Road passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. Mrs. Brinkwart was born on Dec. 4, 1918 in Wittlar, Germany. On May 17, 1953 in Union City, NJ she married Walter R. Brinkwart, who survives. Mrs. Brinkwart Enjoyed classical music, reading, gardening, being in the country and working around her home. She will be remembered as a very caring person who was always helping friends. Mrs. Brinkwart was a member of the Abbotts Sunshine Club. Surviving Mrs. Brinkwart besides her husband are three sons, George R. (Nancy) Brinkwart of Cuba, Paul E. Brinkwart of Cuba, and Peter (Maryam) Brinkwart of Cold Spring Harbor, NY., and two granddaughters - Aisha & Samira Brinkwart of Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Mrs. Brinkwart was pre-deceased by a brother Adolph Ricken and a sister Elizabeth Ricken. Friends will be received on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 5-7 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, where funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, July12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, Pastor of the Cuba First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Abbotts Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA.
