Olean- Joyce Ann (Rado) Weatherley
Joyce Ann (Rado) Weatherley, 68, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 after a short illness.
She was born November 7, 1953 in Olean, New York to Dominic and Joan (Walsh) Rado who preceded her in death.
On November 26, 1992, she married Paul Seth Weatherley in Franklinville, New York and has happily lived with him in New York, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas over the past 29 plus years.
Joyce graduated from Allegany Central School in Allegany, New York in 1971, later graduating from B.O.C.E.S. School of Practical Nursing in Olean, New York, as an LPN in 1976. She worked in several places for over 40 years in nursing, with fond memories of Hannum Home in Bradford, Pennsylvania, St. Francis Hospital in Olean, New York, Retama Manor Nursing Home and Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, as well as with several other wonderful doctors in other locations. She also enjoyed her volunteer time with the American Red Cross in both New York and Texas.
Her most memorable and favorite time was the volunteer work she spent with Culture of Life Ministries (COLM), volunteering as not only a nurse, but an administrative assistant with Dr. Stephen Robinson at the medical missionary clinic in Harlingen, Texas.
In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Joyce was also predeceased by her sister Barbara (Rado) Cornwall in 2018.
Besides her husband, Paul, she is survived by siblings Timothy (Mundy) Rado, Lawrenceville, Georgia, Stephen Rado, Allegany, New York and Carol Rado, Harlingen, Texas. She is also survived by a nephew, Kevin Cornwall of Bath, New York and a nephew Robert (Jacqueline) Akines of Washington DC, along with three nieces Becca (Nick) Hardesty of Stone Mountain, Georgia & Sarah Akines of Buford, Georgia and Megan Pisaneschi of South Carolina. Joyce is also survived by three step-daughters: Paula Gary of Ohio, Tara (Ashley) Baker of Somersworth, New Hampshire & Chasity (Daniel) Kubic of Silver Creek, New York, and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Donations may be made in Joyce’s honor to Culture of Life Ministries in Harlingen, Texas, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in the Summer of 2022.
