Josephine M. Tuttle, 98, formerly of North Olean and Queen St. passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Absolut of Allegany, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Tuttle was born Dec. 21, 1914 in Olean and was a daughter of Alfonzo and Philomena Esposito Liguori. On Oct. 10, 1934 she married her husband of almost 46 years, Paul O. Tuttle who predeceased her May of 1980.
Mrs. Tuttle worked at Questa's Confectionery Store and Jane's Fashions as a sales clerk. She was a hostess at the Olean House and Paul's Steakhouse. Mrs. Tuttle worked in the Day Care at the Christ United Methodist Church until she retired in 2001.
Mrs. Tuttle was a life long resident and grew up in North Olean. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and going to the Flea Market. Most of all Mrs. Tuttle enjoyed being with her grandchildren and family.
Mrs. Tuttle is survived by one son, John M. (Vicky) Tuttle of Olean; three daughters, Paula T. Noltensmeyer of San Antonio, TX, Danae R. (Angelo) Fratcangelo of Olean, and Valorie K. (James) Barzak of Randolph; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Along with her loving husband, Mrs. Tuttle was predeceased by one daughter, Darlene Tuttle-Whipple in 1978; five brothers, Alfonzo, Frank, Leonard, Tom, and Leo Liguori; and one sister, Sue Stafford.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760 from noon to 1:00 PM, at which time a Funeral Service will be held. The Rev. Edward Sheedy will officiate. Burial will be at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Portville.
