North Hornell- John William Steffler Jr. “Hondo”

 John W.  Steffler Jr. “Hondo” of Maplewood Ave passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Wellsville Manor following an illness. 

 John was born on December 19, 1957, in Savannah, GA and was the son of John and Norma K. Cloud Steffler Sr. On October 6, 2000, he married his loving wife, Barbara Judge, who survives. 

 John worked as a diesel mechanic and a truck driver for Southern Tier Express in Andover, now known as XTX. He enjoyed reading, working on vehicles, cooking and volunteering, especially at Family Life Ministry dinners. John was a member of Alfred Almond Bible Church. 

 Beside his loving wife Barbara, John is survived by his sister Pauline Reppert, his brother Clair Steffler, and several nieces and nephews. 

 John was predeceased by his parents and his twin sister, Katherine Hinkley. 

A memorial gathering will be held at the Alfred Almond Bible Church, 6751 State Route 21, Almond, NY 14804 on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm At which time a service will follow where Elder Stephen Rech will officiate.
