Olean- John J. Rogosienski “Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather”
John J. Rogosienski of 613 West Green Street passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, of a chronic illness at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with his wife by his side.
John was born November 18, 1952, in Olean to Walter and Cecelia Kukulka Rogosienski. On October 19, 1974, he married Terry Previglian.
John graduated from Olean High School in 1971. He was employed by a few construction companies and then became a self-employed carpenter. From 1973-2017, John was employed by Siemen’s, formerly known as Dresser Rand and Clark Brothers. Hunting. fishing, gardening, and enjoying nature were some of John’s favorite hobbies as well as helping his wife with preserving his harvest. He was especially known for his canned hot peppers. Every year those around him looked forward to John’s generosity in sharing his harvest. You could always find John in his garage, as he was known for fixing things no one else could!
John loved to help others with his handyman skills. He was always there for immediate and extended family, friends, and neighbors in need. He was most happy and proud to help his grandson, Ryan, work on many projects for school and fun. They also enjoyed many afternoons of fishing.
Surviving is his loving and devoted wife, Terry; two sons, Chad J. (Jessica) Rogosienski of Olean and Scott J. Rogosienski of Hinsdale; one grandson, Ryan who he liked to call his littler helper; a special niece Lauren who lovingly called John her other father, a sister Theresa Tierson; a sister-in-law, Helen Rogosienski and many nieces and nephews.
John was a very private person. He enjoyed one on one conversations with others. He’s hoping you will remember him during those special times. He was called an old soul by some, as he had old-fashioned values and didn’t like all the new technology.
As per John’s request there will be no services held at this time and that you remember him with a prayer for you and your loved ones when you are outside admiring the nature that our Lord created. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
